As previously announced, Air Canada has reduced its scheduled capacity. Air Canada continues to serve a number of international and U.S. transborder destinations from select Canadian cities. Please visit the dedicated COVID-19 page on aircanada.com for the most up-to-date operating schedule.

Departures scheduled between August 1 to September 30, 2020, inclusively

  • If Air Canada is no longer offering service to your destination, your booking will be automatically cancelled and you will be notified of the cancellation by email or by phone.
  • If Air Canada is offering service to your destination but flights on the day of the week you are scheduled to depart are cancelled, you will be contacted by our Customer Support team.
  • If Air Canada is still flying to your destination on the day of the week you selected between August 1 and September 30, 2020; your vacation is still scheduled to depart. Should you have any questions please contact our Customer Support team at 1-866-754-5338.

If your booking was cancelled
Affected customers whose bookings were cancelled will automatically receive a full credit for future travel with no expiry date. Conditions may apply for certain hotel chains and cruises.

Customers do not need to contact Air Canada Vacations or their travel agent as these credits will be processed automatically and will be sent to you by email. When you are ready to use your credits, you should refer to your invoice which contains your Air Canada Vacations booking reference number.

New flexible options for future travel credits

Air Canada Vacations recently introduced even more flexibility to their future travel credits. In addition to the other changes that were previously announced including the possibility to transfer the credit to another person and the ability to keep the residual value of the credit resulting from a fare difference, future travel credits will no longer have an expiry date.

How long is my future travel credit valid for?
Air Canada Vacations has recently extended the validity of future travel credits issued to customers with cancelled vacations scheduled to depart between March 4 and September 30, 2020, inclusively. A future travel credit with no expiry date will be sent to you by email. You do not need to contact Air Canada Vacations. We are processing these future travel credits by departure date.

Can I transfer my future travel credit to another person?
You can transfer the totality of your future travel credit to another person. The validity of the credit remains unchanged. The ability to transfer a future travel credit is only possible for air-only, land-only, or package vacations except for cruise. Cruise future travel credits may not be transferable.

I want to book another vacation using my future travel credit, what should I do?
When you are ready to use your credits, you should refer to your invoice which contains your Air Canada Vacations booking reference number. If you book a new package that is less expensive than the value of your future travel credit, any residual value from the lower fare will remain on your file for future use. Any fare difference will apply if the new vacation is more expensive.

My cruise was cancelled, what should I do?
If you’ve booked a cruise, the same cancellation policies apply. Air Canada Vacations continues to work with individual cruise lines to ensure customers can rebook with ease based on each cruise line’s policy. Certain cruise lines are offering customer the options for a refund, Air Canada Vacations is applying this policy to the cruise-only portion of a package. If you’d like more information regarding your cancelled cruise booking, please call 1-866-529-2079.

What happens if my group reservation (10 or more people) was cancelled?
The same cancellation policies apply, and customers will be issued a future travel credit with no expiry date. Air Canada Vacations continues to work with individual hotel partners to ensure customers can rebook with ease. If you’d like more information about your Group booking, please contact your Groups coordinator.

If I decide to travel, will I need to follow any entry requirements when I arrive at my destination?
Some governments have implemented special entry and exit restrictions for their territory. Before travelling, we encourage travellers to verify if the local health authorities or government bodies of both their current location and selected destination have implemented any specific restrictions related to COVID-19.

What changes to services and safety protocols can I expect when travelling?
To ensure the safety of all guests and employees, mandatory safety protocols may be in place on flights, and at airports, hotels and cruise ships. The availability of services and facilities may be impacted.
