Sri Lanka reports three more COVID-19 deaths

COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka confirmed three COVID-19 victims on Friday, raising the death tally due to the virus up to 225.

The deceased included a 75-year old male resident of Colombo 14 who had died on Friday at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.

His cause of death has been identified as blood poisoning and pneumonia caused by the infection.

Another death was of a 72-year old resident of Ratnapura who had died on Thursday due to pneumonia at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital.

His cause of death has also been identified as pneumonia.

Authorities identified the other deceased as an 87-year old woman who had died at her residence on Wednesday due to respiratory infection and heart issues caused by the virus.
